Kamalani Kai Bridge
 |
|
|
 | The Build
Kamalani Kai Bridge & Decks were built on October 3rd - November 4th,
2001. Thousands of people worked together to build a unique recreational
area. This isn't just an ordinary bridge; it is designed by kids with
all kinds of cool ways to cross it. Our bridge lands on a tree studded
sand dune on the beach, with observation decks and small pavilions on
the sand dunes. Nature themed art work is throughout the project,
surprising and delighting the explorers |
 | The Players
Kaua'i volunteers of all ages and talents, coordinate and built the
facility, guided by Leathers & Associates, Inc., experts in fun, community
built projects. |
 | The Plan
The overall plan for Kamalani 2001 was developed and coordinated by MDG,
Inc., a nationally recognized design firm specializing in trails and
parks, in cooperation with Leathers & Associates, Inc., Leathers &
Associates, Inc., America's foremost community built architectural firm,

facilities around the country, including Kamalani Playground in Lydgate
Park. Before developing the blueprint for Kamalani 2001, the architects
listened to the ideas of hundreds of Kauai's keiki and studied their
imaginative drawings. |
