About Friends of Kamalani & Lydgate Park

Kamalani.org is the website for The Friends of Kamalani and Lydgate Park, a volunteer group of Kauai residents. We are involved in creating the best Beach Park in the State of Hawaii.

The Kamalani Playground is an on-going community project supported and maintained by The Friends of Kamalani and Lydgate Park. The Friends came together to design, build and maintain a children’s playground, an interactive bridge, and a pavilion. Two and a half miles of bike and walking paths significantly enhance Lydgate Park in Kapa’a.

As of winter, 2008, the Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Sports Park (three full size sports fields) is nearing completion, and the County Council has yet to act on an ordinance to create the staffing necessary for the overnight camping operations.

The volunteers:

	Maintain the existing facilities
	Participate in clean-up and work days
	Plan expansions and projects: multi-use paths, camping, pavilions & sports fields
	Raise funds for the improvements
	Involve island children in planning and creating structures and art
	Make the world a more beautiful place
	Have fun and make a difference!
